Favourite Neutral

Hi there~

Today I will present the nail polish that became my favourite neutral polish! This is Jules by Zoya.
Jules is part of the Zoya Intimate Collection that was released for spring 2011.

Jules is described by Zoya as "a sparkling neutral light taupe with gold, silver and champagne metallic shimmer. A new modern metallic that gives an ultra-luxe look." I totally agree with this definition! It's a champange toned polish with light brown and gold shimmer. Once one my nails, I realised this is a perfect neutral colour although it's a gold-champagne shade. It makes your nails very classy, sophisticated and neat! It's a work appropriate colour that keeps a subtle and original look.

Here is a close up!

Can you see the golden shimmer and at the same time, there is a kind of silver undertone...? It's really pretty! I really love this nail polish! It's among my top 5! Application was flawless. I used 3 coats but you could go with 2. It dires really fast. Top coat gives more depth and brighteness to the polish so don't forget this last step!

Finally, after a couple of days wearing Jules, I wanted to see what it looked like with Silver Shatter on top, before taking Jules off. This was just to see if the combo was good or not so forgive me for any tip wear...

First Love Piano

Hi guys,
This design was requested by Nill.. I didn't hesitated to make it when she requested for it because it reminded me of my friend when I was in college, her name is Laurice. She's a very talented musician/artist. She's like a sister to me. We've been through good and bad times. She loves to play the piano, and is very good in freehand drawing.. But I haven't seen her for a long time.. I miss her so much.. Hope she's doing fine... ☺
Materials Used:
white pumpkin nail polish
black ianti
konad black special polish
bundle monster BM207
Hope you like them.. God bless you all ♥

MILKSNAKE NAILART

Hi guys, Good morning! I made a nail art yesterday, but I haven't got time to upload it because of my busy sched.. I made a milksnake manicure using bm215, my second design using new bundle monster image plate.. Here's a bit of trivia about the milksnake..

The milk snake or milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum; French: Couleuvre tachetée; Spanish: Culebra-real coralillo, Lithuanian: Pieninė gyvatė)[1] is a species of king snake. There are 25 subspecies among the milk snakes, including the commonly named scarlet kingsnake (L. t. elapsoides).[1] The subspecies have strikingly different appearance, and many of them have their own common names. Some authorities suggest that this species may be split into several separate species.[1]
Milk snakes grow 20 to 60 inches (51 to 150 cm) long.[1] They have smooth and shiny scales and their typical color pattern is alternating bands of red-black-yellow or white-black-red. [1] However, red blotches instead of bands are seen in some populations.[1] Some milk snakes have a striking resemblance to coral snakes and this mimicry (known asBatesian mimicry) likely scares away potential predators.

Hope you like it! God bless you all!

Pirates of the Caribbean by OPI

Hi here~

I'm so happy because I've just received my OPI Pirates of the Caribbean mini lacquers and bought Silver shatter, too!!
First of all, I'd like to thank OPI Swiss! Thanks to this wonderful team, I was able to get these 4 mini POTC laquers! In fact, I get them as a prize for the contest they organize on their facebook page!

So here are some swatches!
First, I tried the gorgeous "Planks a lot" (BTW I love this name!). This is a kind of dusty lavender. To be honest, this shade really rocks for spring. It's a pretty and really washed-out purple. Its colour really makes me think of "Milka chocolate"! I think it's exactly this kind of coulour! During the whole day, I had this impression I had the Milka Cow on my nails...lol Nevertheless, I really love this colour a lot!

And finally I added Silve Shatter on top! This shatter is so so so sparkly!! I didn't add any top coat over Silver Shatter which dries matte.

Can you see how sparkly Silver Shatter is? This is amazing!!

Then I used Skull & Glossbones and Stranger Tides. Both are grey-based polishes. I used them side by side so that you can clearly see the difference.
Skull & Glossbones is light grey while Stranger Tides is more greenish.

I also added Silver Shatter with top coat.

The last one is Sparrow Me The Drama, a cool toned pale pink with lilac undertones. This one is also really pretty and really spring-like! It's a very feminine colour!

Overall
I really like these polishes, even more than I thought I would. They are all super glossy cream with very original colours. They are not too much in your face but rather soft yet original! Application was a really dream, very quick and without any problems eventhough I used the mini bottles! I think I will wear them a lot!

Teas-y does it and fun!

Hi there~

Today I will present a lacquer that belongs to one of my favourite OPI collection, i.e. Burlesque Collection (Holiday 2010).
So here is "Teas-y does it". It's a dark plum polish with pink/red and gold glass fleck microgiltters in its base. It's a rather strange shade, a bit difficult to describle. Somethimes it looks really brown, somtimes much more plum. When light hits the nails, you can see mostly pink-reddish microglitters.
In the bottle, you can see some duochrome but unfortunately this doesn't translate onto the nails. Nevertheless, this a very nice shade, especially well suited for fall!
The application is very easy. You will need 2 coats to get full opacity.

Teas-y does it (OPI), 2 coats, no top coat. You can see the different shades this polish takes according to the lightening. Sometimes, it looks really brown, sometimes much more plum-toned.

Then I wanted to try my new IsaDora crackle polish on it. This crackle polish is called "Latte Queen" and, as its name suggests, is a coffee latte coloured polish which dries matte. I wanted to see the effect of a very light brown over a much more deeper one.
Here is the result.

Latte Queen (IsaDora) over Teas-y does it (OPI)
In fact, I don't really like the overall result. The crackle polish is a bit too dull, I think and, it hinders too much the beauty of Teas-y does it which I find a bit sad...The colour of Latte Queen is too cooled down, neither white nor brown, I'm rather sceptical...
The application of IsaDora crackles is a bit more tricky than OPI's. Here you have to apply a thick coat of polish and should not apply a second coat or pass over a part you already did otherwise the polish will not crackle in a pretty way. If you apply a thin coat, the colour of the polish will not show very much (cf my index).
For a soft shade of crackle polish, I prefer Pink Bite (you can see a picture here).

Finally, I also did some stamping over Teas-y does it. I used BM plate number 20 and stamped with Nothing Else Metals (Essence).

Teas-y does it (OPI), BM 20 stamped with Nothing Else Metals (Essence)

I like the final result! It looks somehow sophisticated and quite pretty. Happy with this! :p

And a close-up that shows all the beauty of this nail polish! You can see the different tones (brown, plum) and the gold/pink/red microglitters.

NEW BUNDLE MONSTER

Hi all, I received my prize package yesterday from Bundle Monster. I didn't expected that it would arrive this early... I like the newly released BM plates, the full design is much bigger than the previous collection of BM plates and even bigger than the konad image plates. I also like the back side of the i.p. The edges aren't sharp because of the protective sticker pre-installed..
I really like them all, especially all the full designs.. Yay, here's what I made, I named it "square tiled". BTW, I scanned all the BM plates . Hope you like them.. God Bless you all..
