essence Snow White

Hello!!

OMG! Look at what I found today! I'm so excited! I found a display of the famous essence Snow White Trend Edition! Unfortunately  the display was already quite empty. I took the polishes that were left. I promised to buy this collection for a friend if I happened to find it so I won't be able to swatch the polishes but I'll show you bottle shots!
I hope I'll be able to find more of them because I love some of the colors and I'd also love to get some for myself!

This collection is made of 7 dwarf-size polishes (not exactly dwarf-size, they are 5mL), 1 Snow White polish (10mL) and 3 glitter polishes (the evil queen, the huntsman, and the prince charming, 10mL). To know more about this collection, you can look at the preview information here.

Here are the pictures!

l-r: The Huntsman, Bashful, Snow White, Sleepy, Evil Queen.

l-r: The Huntsman, Evil Queen, Snow White.

The Huntsman is just breathtaking! It's made of medium gold and smaller copper hex glitters and there are some holo shreds in it!! It looks amazing!! I wanna see what Prince Charming looks like because it seems to be a blue version of it. Evil Queen is a clear base polish packed with medium purple hex glitters and finally Snow White is a beautiful cherry red jelly. I'm not sure it's a jelly but, according to the way the polish moves in the bottle (does it make any sense? lol) it seems to be a jelly. It's close in terms of color to OPI Keys to My Karma.

l-r: Bashful, Sleepy.

Bashful is a very interesting polish. I thought at first it was a plain green creme but not at all! It's infused with gold dust and it looks amazing. The base color is a medium green. Sleepy is a light blue hue with a lovely blue-purple shimmer. The blue base looks a quite dusty.

And here is a bonus picture!!

The Huntsman!! Have you seen that? It's GORGEOUS!!

What a great collection, isn't it? I'm really impressed by The Huntsman! I love the holo shreds in it! I really hope I'll be able to find more of them!

Attracting Camouflage

Hello!

I have an awesome polish to show you today! It's C02 Attracting Camouflage from Catrice Revoltaire Limited Edition. You can know more about this collection if you go here.

Final verdict: Seriously, this polish is amazing, isn't it? When I saw the press release about this collection, I was really excited to see this shade IRL because it seemed to be close to Illamasque Bacterium. I don't have it so I cannot compare them but Magi from Magi Mania did an awesome comparison post and yeah, they are very similar! I love the fact that there is a quite strong white-blue-silver flash in this brownish beige polish. It's very interesting and original. There is also a nice shimmer that adds a touch of sparkle. For these swatches, I used 3 coats. Application was nice but you have to be a little careful to avoid brush strokes. With 3 coats you get a perfect look. It's a polish I'll wear a lot because it's a rather safe hue but with a twist of magic!

Red and Black Nails

Yay it's my birthday tomorrow!!! Ok random :)

I have been wanting to try vertical studs down the nail since I saw this post by Aly Loves Lacquer. Therefore I decided to use black rhinestones (2mm) down my ring fingers on both hands. I had originally planned on doing all nails but quickly realised I wouldn't have enough rhinestone. I wanted to add a bit of glitter so I applied a layer of Spoiled Shuffle The Deck onto my thumbs. I topped these nails off with Ulta3 Non Chip top coat. Note to self: don't ever use this top coat just before bed! Even with drying drops it indented so badly >.<

I actually wore my nails like this for Mothers Day which may sounds horrible but it matched my dress perfectly :)

Red and Black Nails in Artificial Light
Red and Black Nails in Artificial Light

I had been dying to try out the gradient techique by The Nailasaurus and with Diablo 3 newly released what other colours could I choose but red and black :) So I used China Glaze Poinsettia and BYS Black Satin and applied them to a piece of paper and then mixed the two where they joined. I then sponged this onto my other nails.

Again I only have photos in artificial light because of the terrible weather :(

I love this gradient technique! I honestly can't wait to do this again with the red/black gradient on all my nails I loved it that much :)

China Glaze Poinsettia

I haven't worn a red for some time so I chose China Glaze Poinsettia from the Let It Snow collection. Poinsettia is a gorgeous bright red jelly that fits in very well with the Christmas collection it's from.

I used Sally Hansen Tripe Strong for my base coat. Then I applied two coats of Poinsettia which applied like butter! Since it's a jelly after two coats there was still VNL but it actually didn't seem to bother me which is strange since I usually hate it. I finished off with a coat of Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat.

Now for the photos. As I said there is definite VNL that you can see in the photos.

China Glaze Poinsettia in the Shade

I can't believe it took me this long to try Poinsettia! Since I had almost forgot about it the jelly formula was a pleasant surprise! I actually can't wait to use this with one of the new Spoiled glitters that I received from Sarah :) Jelly sandwich here I come!

Chanel Rose Confidentiel

Hello!!

I'm excited to show you my very first Chanel polish! I bought it in 2010 and it has become my favorite go-to polish. It's so classic, chic, elegant and easy to wear for any occasions. It's called "Rose Confidentiel" and the number is 491.

Final verdict: Rose Confidentiel by Chanel was released in 2010 and is definitely one of my favorite polishes. It's a very classic shade that goes with almost everything. It's totally work-appropriate and it looks very elegant. It's a nude rosy brown creme with more pink than brown in it. Application was really easy and I used 2 coats to reach full opacity and get an even look.

If you are looking for a "dupe", OPI Kreme de la Kremlin is very close to Rose Confidentiel. You can see a comparison here. OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes is also quite close to it except it has a gold shimmer that Rose Confidentiel doesn't have (RC is a pure creme) and OPI is slighly more pink. So they are not dupes but they are close.

Is is bad if I'm getting more and more interested in Chanel polishes?... ;D

Purchase info
Chanel polishes can be purchased from Chanel website and in your favorite Chanel counters or boutiques.

PS I participated in a Lancôme contest. My entry is this pink manicure with a rose pattern that reminds the Lancôme rose emblem.

It would be really nice from you if you could vote for me!

Nail Mail from Bethany!

Yay another early birthday present! Lol not really but that's how it feels to me :) I won a giveaway over at A Plethora Of Nails and was over the moon happy! You'll see why...

First up these amazing Revlons! I had been looking at getting some of these as soon as Priceline had some kind of deal on but they're really expensive here. Hence, why I was SO happy to win these in Bethany's giveaway :)

Revlon Whimsical, Popular, Facets Of Fuchsia and Radiant
My first Claire's polish!! I have been dying to get these three polishes since they've been popping up on many nail blogs taunting me with their gorgeous photos >.<

Claire's Candy Shop, Sinful Colors Cinderella and Essence Choose Me!
Every single polish that Bethany sent me was on my wishlist, not to mention mostly dupes of more expensive brands, so I couldn't have been more happy! I can't thank Bethany enough for sending me these gorgeous polishes and my package arrived so quickly. I swear looking at these goodies I'm like a kid in a candy shop unable to make up my mind of what to try first lol :)

Lancôme contest

Hello!

I have a huge favour to ask you today!
I am participating in a Lancôme contest and I need your help to get more votes. Could you vote for me, please? Thank you so much!!

The picture I submitted is the following one. I decided to go for a rose pattern because, as you probably all know, this flower is the emblem of Lancôme!
For this manicure, I used 2 coats of KOH Hot Pink 159. And then I stamped with Zoya Sarah using Konad image plate m65. I got this KOH polish from the lovely Crystaliciousss. Thank you~
I'm holding in this picture a travel sized (7 mL) lip gloss from Lancôme Juicy Tubes line. Sorry I can't tell the name of it because it's not written on the tube but it's gorgeous. It leaves a red shimmer on your lips and it feels very moisturizing.
Next time you'll take the plane, take a look at the travel sized make up in duty free shops. There are a lot of great items!

For the Lancôme contest you have to send a picture showing your "Rouge in Love" style featuring either lipstick and/or nail polish. Of course, I've chosed to show my nails rather than my lips :D

This contest is hold by Lancôme Switzerland and only people living in Switzerland can submit an entry. Sorry...However people from all over the word can vote! The contest will be over at the end of May.

In order to vote you have to:

  • Like Lancôme Switzerland's FB page (click here to like it).
  • Follow this link (click here). You will be lead to the contest page.
  • Click on "Francais".
  • You will see my picture. Can you then click on the "heart" button, please? In this way, you'll give me 1 vote!

The person that get the most "likes" will win the entire Lancôme "Rouge in Love" lipstick and "Vernis in Love" polish collection! Isn't it amazing? I can't almost believe it!

Thanks a million if you could vote for me!! If you have a problem finding my picture, drop me a comment here, please. Thank you so much!!

Face of Australia Barbados Collection Swatches

As you may remember when Big W had AUD$3 off Face of Australia products I purchased 7 polishes from the new Barbados collection.

Each of these swatches is without base and top coat. Two coats were used in each swatch. All photos taken in artificial light.

Calypso Gold

Calypso Gold is a gorgeous champagne colour with a gold shimmer. The gold shimmer didn't turn up well in my photos but you can see it in the bottle :) This is such a gorgeous light happy colour that I love!

Orange You Glad You Came

Orange You Glad You Came is a bright orange with a gold shimmer. First off please excuse my pinkie, I was trying to manoeuvre the bottle and manage to mash the nail polish on my pinkie :( Anyway this is a fantastic Summer colour in my opinion. Again the shimmer didn't photograph well but can be seem in the bottle. I was surprised at just how bright an orange this is! A definite happy colour :)

Bright Lights, Pink City

Bright Lights, Pink City is a pink jelly with gold shimmer. Yay, this time the gold shimmer actually showed up in my photos :) This one is sheerer than the others and after two coats still has VNL so you might want to use a third coat. I really loved this colour :)

Another Daiquiri Please

Another Daiquiri Please is a dark pink jelly leaning towards red with a delicate pink shimmer.  Like Bright Lights, Pink City this one is also very sheer and again could use three coats as there is still VNL. Another Daiquiri Please looks so juicy on the nail :)

I Like To Mauve It

I Like To Mauve It is a pink mauve with a silver shimmer. This was another one of my favourites, surprising since it's such a girly colour. Another pretty squishy pink :)

You Blue Me Away

You Blue Me Away is a light blue with a silver shimmer. It has more of a foil finish than the jellies in the rest of this collection. This was another one of my favourite and immediately went on my toes since my nails were already painted!

Let's Go Scuba Diving

Let's Go Scuba Diving is a bright teal with a blue/green shimmer. Another gorgeous polish but this one reminds me of mermaids lol. Definitely a vacation celebration shade. Can't wait to wear this as a full manicure.

Overall

I love the colours in this collection! I have nothing like these shades already in my collection so I was so happy to pick thee up. The one shade I didn't pick up was Party At The Gap because I was after bright colours and I think I have similar colours to PATG already. Anyone else pick up any from this collection?

Snow Angel

Hello!!

Snow Angel by Lynnderella is problably one of the polishes I wanted the most when I first saw swatches of it! So I was super happy when I got it!

I layered it over 3 coats OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!, a dreamy white jelly.

Final verdict: The name of this polish is just so perfect. It looks so etheral, it could have been made in heaven. In another way, it also looks like some snow that is falling on your nails. It's a very delicate and sophisticated polish in my opinion. There are tones of glitters but it still look elegant because the glitters are not the in-your-face type of glitters. Here I perhaps overdid it because I used 3 coats of Snow Angel. I kept adding and adding glitters because I was so fascinated by them lol I think 1 thick coat or 2 thinner coats would have done the job as well! As with most Lynnderella, the formula was a real dream and the polish was easy to apply.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Snow Angel is a milky base (so it's not a clear base) packed with small and medium hexagonal, and medium squre glitters.

Purchase info
Lynnderella polishes can be purchased from Llarowe. They sell internationally (except Italy) and have an awesome customer service. Lynnderella polishes are $15 each.
