Multichrome holo combo with Ozotic 505 and Glitter Gal Silver 3D/Holo

Hello~

As I said yesterday, this week will be dedicated to Ozotic polishes. Ozotic polishes are from Australia. They are really famous for their multichrome polishes. They also have holographic polishes (I'll show you an example during this week) and a fine mutlichrome glitter line called Elytra.

So I did my first mani of the week with Ozotic 505, which is a multichrome polish that shifts from green to cyan to purple. According to Picture Polish (Australian distributor), #505 "contains a unique light interference pigment, which creates more than a subtle variation of colour, an almost magical transfomation in appearance!  Colours vary depending on the angle the light falls on your nail!"
This polish is very very sheer so you have to layer it on top of a black (or dark) base. I will show this baby also in the current the week.

And the second polish I used is Glitter Gal Silver 3D/Holo (707H). This is the most amazing holo top coat I've never seen cos you only need a thin coat to transform your polish in a beautiful holographic polish.
I've done a review of this crazy polish here.

Here you can see the icy blue with the black base. And everything is made holo thanks to Glitter Gal Silver 3D/Holo.

So my layering order:
  • 1 coat of Color Club Revvolution. This is a charcoal/black scatteed holo. But sincerely you can use here a black creme and it won't change anything! I tried! It's just that I don't have a nice black creme so I used this one instead.
  • 2 coats of Ozotic 505. This is the multichrome polish that shifts from green to blue and purple.
  • 1 thin coat of Glitter Gal Silver 3D/Holo (707H). This is the holo top coat.

Here is the green!

Now you have a teal with some purple (difficult to see...) on the edges.

Blue + purple + black + holo!

Purple dream~

Purple again...because I love it!

Black holo!

And here you can really see the multichrome effect with the green and purple. This picture was taken in daylight (low light) but away from the sun, in a room.

I took so many picture because it keeps looking different everytime!

Bare it in mind that it's only one single combo here! I did not change anything except the light for all these pictures. This combo is a real chameleon!

Final verdict: I'm so happy with this combo. It's so special and beautiful. Sincerely if you love holo and/or multichrome, you should try something like this! ;D It's really fun to do and wear.
I saw yesterday a swatch of the new Ozotic polish from their Mish Mash collection, it's number 532 and I was really amazed on how close this one looks like my combo...The Mish Mash collection is a collection of 4 polishes that are multichrome and holo at the same time.
You can have a look at  #532 on Adventures in Acetone. It seems to be so close to the combo I've made here...!

Glitter Gal and Ozotic polishes can be purchased at Llarowe. This is the US stockist for Glitter Gal, Ozotic, A England, and Hits polishes, 4 awesome nail polishes brands. They sell internationally and have an awesome customer service.

Ozotic week!

Hello~

I hope you're all doing well!
Today will be a special week because I want to dedicate this week to Ozotic polishes!

I had the opportunity to get some Ozotic thanks to Stephanie from Packer Lacquer who did a group order for a Facebook group I belong to...So when I heard about this, I had to be added in this group order!lol

So here is what I got.

From left to right:

  • #518: a red holo
  • #520: it shifts from rusty burgundy to red to amber to gold to orange (according to Llarowe)
  • #505: it shifts from green to purple to cyan (according to Llarowe)
  • #528: it contains glittering partlicles that shift from blue to green to pink (according to Llarowe)
I can't wait to show them to you! I've aldready worn #518, #505, and #528 and combos with them. Swatches are ready...I'll post the 1st article about them tomorrow!!

Do you have Ozotic polishes? Which one would you like? holos? Multichromes?

Also, don't forget that the new Ozotic collection is out. It's called Mish Mash and it's a series of 4 polishes that are holo and multichrome at the same time! Completely unbelievable! The lovely Jacki from Adventures in Acetone already posted some pictures. So go and check!
I should also be getting samples from this collection. So I will also be able to show you holo+multichrome! Yay~

Ozotic polishes can be purchased from Llarowe (US Stockist) or Picture Polish (Australian shop).

Cherry Cordial (Nubar duochrome)

Hi there~

Today I have a nice brown-cherry duochrome polish to show you. It's Nubar Cherry Cordial. It was released as a part of Nubar's Chocolate Truffles collection (Fall 2009). This collection has some gorgeous chocolate, candy, and caramel colors. So yummy~

It's described by Nubar as a medium red brown shimmer (NCT1089 Cherry Cordial).

I took so many pictures because this polish can show so many different aspects. Every picture holds a different detail...

You can see some yellow-greenish brown on the upper part of the nails.

Duochrome!

Here you can see the cherry part of the polish. It's visible especially in the sun.

Yummy brown chocolate color here!

Final Verdict: Cherry Cordial is a very interesting polish. The colors range from cherry brown to chocolate brown and you can also see some yellow-greenish duochrome flashing on the sides of the nails. On these pictures, I used 2 coats, with top coat. Application was flawless. A perfect fall polish!

Scandal polishes update!

Hello!!

This is a quick update on Scandal nail polishes. Last week, I presented you a gorgeous green jelly packed with silver glitters, callled 5897 Green Pearl.

Amber makes me notice it was unfortunately not available on Nailissima or Banzailiving. So I asked both sites and soon afterwards I got a message from the lovely owner of Nailissima telling me 5897 Green Pearl was part of a new collection. This new collection will be soon available at Nailissima! So if you want it, you just have to wait a little until it's in stock.
On the contrary, I didn't get any feedback from Banailiving...

Here are some pictures! This is just a very small part of this amazing nail polish brand ;D

These pretties are already available at Nailissima!

These pretties are already available at Nailissima!

I also got this information from Nailissima so that you can check all the different colors.

Better resolution of this huge picture here where you can see more details of the polishes!
There are some gorgeous colors among them like for example 5897 Green Pearl (this is a link to my swatches).

What are your thoughts about these polishes, girls?

Essence Re-mix your Style TE - Swatches and Review

Hi there~

I'm so excited to present you the new Essence Trend Edition called Re-mix your Style.
This collection is made of 4 effect top coats and 6 colors. The top coats seemed the most interesting to me. That's why I bought them as well as a back up bottle of "Waking up in Vegas" (flakies) for future franken. I got the idea of the franken while looking at The Swatchaholic.

Waking up in Vegas, Feels so Good, Just can't get enough, We will rock you

Let's start with the flakies! This lovely one is called 01 Waking up in Vegas and yeah....it contains orange flakies that can switch from yellow to green on the nails according to the light. They are suspended in a clear base.

On this picture, I layered 2 coats of Waking up in Vegas over black. As you can see, with 2 coats, it's fairly dense and you can spot the green, yellow and orange color shift.

I heard Waking up in Vegas is a dupe for Nubar 2010 or Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure. I don't have any of them so I cannot do any comparison but from what I've seen, they do seem quite close indeed.

It's easy to work with this polish, no application problem was encountered. And as the base is clear, you have endless layering possibilies! The bottle contains 8 mL and cost about  $3-4.

__________________________________________

The second one is the LOVE top coat, 01 Feels so Good. On the label, it's written "Rosé Shimmer" and that's what this polish is supposed to do: give your base color a nice and sparkly pink shimmer.

01 Feels so Good is really amazing and totally unexpected! I tought it was "only" giving your base polish a pink shimmer. However, look at the swatches! You've got some kind of duochrome effect. This is not obivous on the nails all the time, it depends on the angle at which light hits your nails. But oh my! When this appears, it looks super interesting!
Maybe, what you cannot see on my pictures, it's the really shimmery effect this polish has. It's more glowy than the picture wanna show you.

This was 2 coats over black. Again, application was nice.

__________________________________________

Next is 01 Just can't get enough. It's the POP top coats that is supposed to give, according to the label, a holo finish to your base polish. I'm always on the fence when Essence talks about holo because, most of the time, it's not a true holo.
So let's take a look at the swatches.

01 Just can't get enough is really holo!! Yay~ The finish is a scattered holo. There are holo particles suspended in a sheer pinkish base. The holo particles are super shiny and it gives a really nice glow on the nails.

This was 2 coats over black. Again, nice application.

I really love of "spacy" it looks! ;D Galaxy nails! How nice!!

__________________________________________

The last one is called 01 We will rock you and the label on it says "smoky finish". I must admit I was really curious about this one because I had no idea what a smoky finish was...
I found that Dior had released last April a Rock Coat Smoky Black Top Coat that gives the same kind of finish...So We will rock you might be a very nice alternative to this expensive Dior polish.

I wanted to show you the effect of this polish over a bright pink. For this purpose, I chose to layer it over Nubar Honeysuckle.
Here is what Honeysuckle looks by itself.

And now, let's add a thin coat of We will rock you on top.

And the bright pink now has a smoky finish! We will rock you is in fact a sheer black and shimmer jelly. I show you 2 close up pictures, one withouth and one with flash because the first one shows you the overall effect the best while the photo taken with flash shows you the really texture of this polish, i.e., the sheer shimmery black jelly.

It's more interesting than I thought it would because you can smoke out any polish to spicy up your mani.

Application was perhaps a little more difficult than the other top coats of this collection because IMO it looks best when you use a very thin layer, in one single stroke. And if you don't apply the same amount on each nails, some nails will look darker than the others which is not the prettiest IMO again...But when it's done nicely, it looks super pretty!

Final toughts about the whole collection:

I must admit I'm super happy with this collection. Essence has done an amazing job here.
You've got flakies, a holo, a shimmery duochrome, and a funny and vampy smoky finish. How amazing is that!!
I was more than surprised with everyone and there are many layering possibilities to enjoy them in different fashions.

Scandal Green Pearl

Hi there~

Today I have another gorgeous polish to show you. This is one the polishes I bought in Seoul last August. This "5897 Green Pearl" from Scandal.

It's a green jelly packed with tiny round silver and green glitters and a little bigger silver hex glitters. The overall color is a green tinted with a bit of blue...so it's a kind of teal :p However, much of the time it looks really green...kind of emerald green...!! It's super spakly and beautiful!

This is a picture taken with flash so that you can see the sparkle.

Final verdict: Wow, this polish had directly entered my top 10! It's truely beautiful. I love the jelly finish with all the glitters. And the base color is really unique to my stash...it's a little difficult to describle because somtimes it leans toward teal while somtimes it's more an emerald green tone....but don't get it wrong, it's not a duochrome polish. Application was flawless. I used 3 coats, with top coat. I wore it for 3 days without any chips.

I did a previsous post about Scandal polishes here where you can learn more about the brand and where to shop. And here you can also see another Scandal polish I already swatched.

You can buy Scandal polishes from Banzailiving (US only) and from Nailissima (international shipping).

I also added a last picture just to give you an idea of the overall effect of this polish. It nearly has the same "structure" as OPI Sparkle de Triomphe...so that you can imaging how sparkly and beautiful it is...a kind of green version of this polish! ;D
I don't know why but on all my pictures, it cames out really blue (cf the litte picture where it's compared to Sparkle  deTriomphe) but its not it's true color. So I had to change the color with a software and the picture are color accurate now!

Corset bottle shape ;D
