Scandal polishes update!

Hello!!

This is a quick update on Scandal nail polishes. Last week, I presented you a gorgeous green jelly packed with silver glitters, callled 5897 Green Pearl.

Amber makes me notice it was unfortunately not available on Nailissima or Banzailiving. So I asked both sites and soon afterwards I got a message from the lovely owner of Nailissima telling me 5897 Green Pearl was part of a new collection. This new collection will be soon available at Nailissima! So if you want it, you just have to wait a little until it's in stock.
On the contrary, I didn't get any feedback from Banailiving...

Here are some pictures! This is just a very small part of this amazing nail polish brand ;D

These pretties are already available at Nailissima!

I also got this information from Nailissima so that you can check all the different colors.

Better resolution of this huge picture here where you can see more details of the polishes!
There are some gorgeous colors among them like for example 5897 Green Pearl (this is a link to my swatches).

What are your thoughts about these polishes, girls?

Scandal Green Pearl

Hi there~

Today I have another gorgeous polish to show you. This is one the polishes I bought in Seoul last August. This "5897 Green Pearl" from Scandal.

It's a green jelly packed with tiny round silver and green glitters and a little bigger silver hex glitters. The overall color is a green tinted with a bit of blue...so it's a kind of teal :p However, much of the time it looks really green...kind of emerald green...!! It's super spakly and beautiful!

This is a picture taken with flash so that you can see the sparkle.

Final verdict: Wow, this polish had directly entered my top 10! It's truely beautiful. I love the jelly finish with all the glitters. And the base color is really unique to my stash...it's a little difficult to describle because somtimes it leans toward teal while somtimes it's more an emerald green tone....but don't get it wrong, it's not a duochrome polish. Application was flawless. I used 3 coats, with top coat. I wore it for 3 days without any chips.

I did a previsous post about Scandal polishes here where you can learn more about the brand and where to shop. And here you can also see another Scandal polish I already swatched.

You can buy Scandal polishes from Banzailiving (US only) and from Nailissima (international shipping).

I also added a last picture just to give you an idea of the overall effect of this polish. It nearly has the same "structure" as OPI Sparkle de Triomphe...so that you can imaging how sparkly and beautiful it is...a kind of green version of this polish! ;D
I don't know why but on all my pictures, it cames out really blue (cf the litte picture where it's compared to Sparkle  deTriomphe) but its not it's true color. So I had to change the color with a software and the picture are color accurate now!

Corset bottle shape ;D

Scandal nail polishes!

Hi there~

Some time ago, I showed you a very interesting "Scandal" polish. You can read my post about it and look at its swatches there.
I found more information about this brand so I wanted to share this with you.
Also, I'll swatch soon 2 other Scandal polishes I bought. You can already have a look at the bottles. The dark green seems gorgeous! I can't wait to try it.

Scandal nail polishes Green Pearl - Mirage Pink - Dynamic Pink.

So these polishes are from the Korean brand "Scandal". It's a cosmetic brand that sells all kind of cosmetics (make up, body care, nail care and polishes).
The first time I saw these lovely bottles of nail polish, I thought they were an imitation of Nfu Oh because the bottles are so alike. By the way, I did a bottle comparison in my post about Mirage Pink. So I thought their quality might be not that good. But I was totally wrong. The 3 polishes I have are a really dream! The application is great and the color, texture and finish of each polish is just breathtaking.
So I searched the net for more information and found some pictures of their main polishes. They have 4 different categories of polishes (the gold, silver and black lines are all corset-bottles and a another one with a more conventional bottle shape). I don't really know why there is a gold, silver and black line...When I bought mine in Seoul, the seller just told me the price was different according to the cap color...this is true for the Korean websites but on international websites that sell Scandal polishes, all gold, silver and black are the same price (btw more expensive than the Korean websites).

The different polishes

I lent the pictures from http://www.dr-angus.co.kr and http://www.kissnail.co.kr. You can also buy polishes from them but as these sites are in Korean it might be a little difficult and I don't know if they sell internationally (the 2nd don't, I haven't checked for dr-angus). But I'll give you another link in 5 sec.

Technical Part
I found the following info on http://www.kissnail.co.kr (again it's just in Korean....and my Korean skills are limited so I apologize if there are some mistakes...but it should be all right :p).
Ingredients:
Scandal nail polishes contain: butyl acetate, ethyacetate, nitrocellulose, phtalicanhydride/trimellitic anhydride/glycols stearalkonium hectorite, silicadi methyl skyliate, dipropylene glycol dibenzoate, benzophenone-1, ethyl, alcool, citric acid, mica, bismuth oxychloride, aluminium lake, tocopheryl acetate.
These ingredients are for the 4th line of polishes (more conventional bottle shape). For the others, there are special ingredients (coral powder, rose hip oil).
Bottle size: 15 mL.
They also claim they have a special fabrication process that is called "micro high dispersion (MHD)". This system allows them to have high shine and high quality polishes.
They also use a "Sucrose  Polish  Agent" that makes it easier to have a uniform layer of polish and a higher stabiliy of the polish solution. It also increases the brightness of the color film.
They also use some coral powder that contains magnesium, calcium and potassium salts that protect and give you healthy nails.
Finally their polishes also contain rose hip oil. This oil is supposed to have beneficial effects on the skin. It improves skin quality and appearance for example. This oil as a high content of unsaturated essential fatty acids, namely linoleic acid (47%), linolenic acid (33%). These fatty acids help to nourish and maintain a healthy skin. Rose hip oil is also supposed to strengthen and moisturize the nails, and stimulate their growth if you massage them with the pure oil.

All Scandal polishes are formaldehyde, toluene and DBP (dibutyl phthalate) free.

Where you can buy:
Nailissima: this is a French website but they sell internationally (shipping costs: 5.5€ to France, 15.9€ for international shipping)
Banzailiving: a US website, don't sell internationally, USA only (shipping costs: if you buy for <$20: $7.50, between $20-$75: $9.99, $75-$150: $13.99, $150-$200: $15.99, >$200: free)
Korean sites: Kissnail, Domaeya, Kimmyshow, ....

I hope this post will help people interested in this brand.
Are there any Scandal polishes you're interested in?

Scandal - Mirage Pink

Hi there~

From today I will start presenting you the polishes I bought in Seoul.

The first one is a polish from the brand "Scandal", a Korean brand.

The name of the polish is "Mirage Pink" (#304). It's a coral-based polish with pink, orange and gold in it. Its name is Mirage Pink but to me the overall result is more coral and orange-toned than pink....

So yeah, somtimes, the polish looks really coral on your nails and it leans toward orange while in the shade, it looks more pink (medium pink). And nearly all the time, it flashes gold really strongly! This gold flash is much stronger than what you have in Zoya Happi for example. And Zoya Happi is clearly pink (bubble gum pink) and doesn't have any other color in its base while here, Mirage Pink has a trichrome coral-orange-pink base. I believe that the "orange effect" is due to this strong gold flash.
Application was very nice, a little sheer on the first layer but opaque with 2 or 3 coats. Here I used 3 coats, without top coat.

Duochrome! See the orange in the lower part of the nails and pink in the upper part.
On this last picture, you can see the orange color on the lower part of the nail and the pink color on the upper part (duochrome).

Finally I'd like to show you a bottle comparison between the Scandal and the Nfu Oh's bottles.

You can click on the picture to enlarge it.

Final verdict: This is the first time I use any Scandal nail polishes and I must admit I've been quite impressed by its quality and awesomeness. The color is really intriguing and a bit difficult to describe...it's an orange coral that changes to pink according to the light and has a super strong gold flash. This gold flash is present even in the shade...so no need super stong light to catch a glimps of it! Application was easy.

You can see more colors of Scandal nail polishes here. I bought 2 other Scandal polishes which I'll show you soon. They are glitters~ So Scandal has quite a large range of different polishes (different colors and textures). It's a really interesting brand IMO. Have you already heard about it?
