essence Colour3

Hello!

I have swatches of the "new" essence Colour3 polishes lying on my computer for a few months now and I haven't found the opportunity to post them....I think time has come to show you these pretties!

This new essence line is composed of 6 new polishes (you can see a preview here) but I only got three of them because I have to behave well and not to buy too many things!

So let's start with 01 Midnight Date.
01 Midnight Date is composed of an opaque dark blue polish with a nice shimmer  (Midnight Date, it has the same name as the whole polish stick) and a flakie top coat (City That Never Sleeps). In the blue polish, you can spot some purple and green. The color is really intense and deep. Concerning the top coat, the flakies are suspended in a sheer purple base and the color of the flakies is mainly green. You also have a very pretty purple shimmer running through it. I can't remember if I used 1 or 2 coats for Midnight Date, sorry. I used 1 coat of City That Never Sleeps.

Bottle shot of City That Never Sleeps.

The second one I got is 04 A Walk In The Park.
04 A Walk In The Park is composed of a medium green creme with a light shimmer in it (A Walk In The Park, again the same name as the stick itself) and a top coat made of white/silver flakes in a green-whitish base (Stop For An Ice Cream). When you look carefully at the bottle, you can actually see those white/silver flakes but on the nails, it rather has the look of a glass fleck polish (not true flakies). I used 2 coats of A Walk in the Park topped with one coat of Stop For An Ice Cream.

Bottle shot of Stop For An Ice Cream.

And finally we have 05 Boys Are Back In Town.
05 Boys Are Back In Town is made of a grayed out purple creme, a kind of Chanel Paradoxal shade (Boys Are Back In Town) and a top coat consisting in a sheer base with purple/blue shimmer (It's Just A Little Crush). This was 2 coats of the base color topped with one coat of It's Just A Little Crush.

Bottle shot of It's Just A Little Crush.

Application was flawless and really easy for all shades. The base colors for the 3 polishes are really pretty and I think I will wear them with and without their corresponding top coat. essence did also a great job with the top coats, you have one with flakies, one with  glass fleck and another with a pretty purple/blue shimmer. I like the variety of finishes they made in those top coats!
Each stick contains 2x 4 mL (2x .013 fl.oz).

Catrice Million Styles LE Swatches

Hello!

I'm super happy to show you the following polishes. I was lucky to find the current Catrice limited edition called "Million Styles". It's a collection composed of 8 effect top coats.

All swatches are 1 coat of Catrice Million Styles over a A-England Lancelot except for the first one where I used Essence Bonnie (a discontinued twin) and for the second one where I used Ludurana Violet Color Block instead. No top coat was used. Pictures were taken under artificial light.

The first one is C01 No Smoke Without Fire "for a cool, sultry smokey look on your nails".
It's a top coat that is supposed to make a smokey finish on your nails. This is similar to a polish Essence released last year in their Re-mix Your Style limited edition. You can see my swatches of it here. Both of them are also dupes or at least really close to Dior Rock Coat Smoky Black Top Coat.

l-r: 1 coat of No Smoke Without Fire over bare nail, Essence Bonnie, 1 coat No Smoke Without Fire over Essence Bonnie (2x).

Essence Bonnie, 1 coat No Smoke Without Fire over Essence Bonnie (2x).

C01 No Smoke Without Fire  is in fact a very sheer shimmery black jelly. It renders your base color darker and gives a jelly look to it. I really like it because you can do so many different combinations with it. It's so versatile! I bet it would also look great over glitters!

The second one, C02 Million Dollar Baby"offers glitter, glitter, glitter".
It's a glitter polish composed of large silver hex and smaller gold glitters.

1 coat of Million Dollar Baby over Ludurana Violet Color Block.
I got this beautiful Ludurana polish from my friend Laura from Brazil. Thank you so much, my dear!!

It's funny because in the bottle, I thought all the glitters were silver! I didn't realized the smaller were gold. Even on the nails, it's a bit difficult to see they are actually gold. However, it gives a nice gold shimmer on the nails. I think this is due to a reflect created by the glitters that act like small mirrors. This can make you think there is a golden shimmer....a kind of optical illusion...very interesting!

Next one is C03 Miss Money Penny "immerses your nails in a soft golden shimmer".
To me, it's more a copper or a peachy gold than a yellow gold. On the index, I used a thin coat while on the other fingers, I used a thicker one. So you can give more or less density to your look according on how you apply your polish.

C0 4 Shake It! Flake It! "creates an awesome 3D jewel effect".
These are flakies! They are mainly red or dark orange and shift to yellow and green.

C05 Return Of Space Cowboys "guarantees a sparkling appearance".
This is a black jelly packed with a multitude of color shifting tiny flecks that sparkle a lot! They shift from a green-teal (main color) to blue and purple. I can also see some silver in  it but it's not very obvious.

C06 Godfather Of Pearl "creates a soft pearly nail design".
This is one is a little similar to C05 Return of Space Cowboys in the sense that it is also packed with shimmery green-blue flecks. However, its base is transparent and the particles are rather round and chunkier. What is really unique are the bigger silver particles. They are really visible and give a nice structured touch! I don't know why (it's completely different) but it reminds me of the gold glitters in OPI Absolutely Alice!

C07 ¿Holo Qué Tal?! "offers holographic shimmering glitter pigments".
I must admit I don't really understand why Catrice says that ¿Holo Qué Tal? is "holo". It does have shimmery glitters but they are not holo. They shift from pink to purple. And that's really pretty!

C08 Have An Ice Day "conjures-up a light glittering ice-effect on your nails".
This is a clear top coat packed with a lot of scattered holo (yes, it's holo here!lol) small particles. They display the whole range of colors of the rainbow. I thought I wouldn't really like this one but I was really surprised when I layered it on my nails! In fact I love the effect because with a thin coat, you can create a rather soft, not too dense pattern and the different particles seem to place themselves in a very regular pattern and I think this is really cool! It reminds me of stars in the sky at night.

Wow, there were some many pictures in this post. I hope you enjoyed it!
People at Catrice did an amazing job on this collection!! The only downside of this collection is that it's a limited edition...I whish they would enter into their regular range of polishes!
It's difficult to pick a favorite out of them but I must admit I really love C06 Godfather Of Pearl! And I think I'll achieve a lot of different looks with C01 No Smoke Without Fire. I want to try it over glitters!

Guest post for Laura

Hello!

Laura from Laura's Lacquers contacted me at the begining of February to ask me if I wanted to do a guest post on her blog! How sweet is that! I felt so happy and honored she asked me! I had no other choice but to say yes!
Thank you very much, Laura!

Ludurana Trovão

Hello!

Do you love flakies? I do! So I'll show a flakie polish from Ludurana. Ludurana is a Brazilian brand that has awesome polishes! They have a multichrome and holographic collection called Aurora Boreal, and some gorgoeus flakie polishes! They are 3 Free and have a nice application. If you don't know this brand, I highly recommand you take a closer look at it!

Here is Trovão! It's a clear polish packed with blue and green flakies!
Sorry some pictures are a bit blurry....I took this pictures some time ago and now know why I had this promblem. This issue is fixed now! However, you can still see how the polish is so I kept the pictures :D

Final verdict: Green flakies! I love that! :D So Trovão (this means thunder in Portuguese) is a clear based polish, placked with green-blue flakies. The main color that you can see when you have it on your nails is green. And when you move your hand, you can see blue. But green is definitely the main color. The particularity of this polish compared to other flakies is maybe that the flakies are rather small. In fact I prefer smaller flakies because it looks neater and cleaner in my opinion. Here I used 1 coat of Trovão over A-England Lancelot (you can see my post about Lancelot here). So you can reach quite a high density of flakies with already 1 coat. I'm very pleased with this polish and I'm sure it would also look awesome over green or blue! I'll have to try that!

Ludurana flakie polishes will be discontinued soon so if you're interested in getting one or some of them, do not wait!

Purchase info
Ludurana polishes can be purchased from Llarowe. This is the US stockist for Glitter Gal, Ozotic, Picture Polish, A-England, Hits, Ludurana, and Lynnderella polishes, awesome nail polishes brands. They sell internationally (except Italy). You can visit Llarowe on Facebook. Ludurana multichromes are $7 per bottle of 8 mL.

Amazing swap with Rafa from Brazil

Hello~

Excitement overwhelmed me when I received a box from my friend Rafa today!! She sent me so many amazing polishes and goodies. Rafa is the co-owner, with 3 other lovely  girls, of Nail Ink. If you don't know their blog, go and have a look. There are always great polishes and swatches to look at :D
When I first heard of Hits holographic polishes (Hits no olimpo) and Ludurana Aurora Boreal collection, I so wanted to try these polishes and at that time Llarowe didn't have them on her website (yeah, we started talking about this swap at the very begining of October!), that my friend Rafa agreed to swap with me! BTW, she is the nicest and loveliest girl I've ever known through polishes! Thank you, Rafa!
At first I wanted just a few polishes (less than 10) and then we kept adding polishes to arrive to this crazy amount I'll show you in the underneath pictures!

Ludurana, Hits, Rivka, Ana Hickmann, Risqué, Passe Nati, and Blant polishes! And also some cute nail files and a poket cuticle moisturizer (I've already tried it and I LOVE it!).

The whole Hits No Olimpo collection!! *v*)
Ludurana flakies: Relâmpago, Chuva, Arco-Iris, Trovão.
They all have multicolored flakies except Trovão, which has green and blue/teal flakies. I can't take my eyes off Trovâo. It's really beautiful, mesmerizing!

Ludurana Aurora Boreal: Show, Reluz, Emocionante, Esplêndido.

Hits flakies: Lambada and Samba.
Lamabada has a multicolored flakies in a clear base, while Samba has green flakies in a green base. Samba is really beautiful, it's also duochrome. You can see blue in it.

Ana Hickmann Reflex, Relux and Glow.
Ana Hickmann is a brand I didn't know, but I'm always happy to try new brands! These polishes are a present from Rafa. Reflex is a purple/green duochrome, Relux is a dark green shimmery polish, and Glow has red/orange-green flakies!!

Passe Nati - Baile, Risqué - Violeta Acinzentado, Rivka - Jenny.
These again are a gift from Rafa. The first one (Passe Nati - Baile) is a white/yellow/green shimmery polish. Risqué - Violeta Acinzentado is supposed to be a dupe for Chanel Paradoxal (I have it so I will compare them, but they do seem really similar). Rivka - Jenny is a gorgeous charcoal holo. It doesn't look that holo in the bottle here but it is on the nails.

Blant Fortuna, Romance, and Paz.
This set is also a gift!! So many gifts! Thank you so much Rafa for all these amazing polishes!! I LOVE them ALL!!

wow...!! so many gorgeous polishes!!

Expect some swatches in the upcoming days~ Tomorrow I'll present you Hits no Olimpo collection in more details!
