Candeo South St. sandwiched

Hello!!
How do you like sandwich manicures? I personnally like them a lot because they allow you to wear crazy glitters in a softer way!

For this manicure I used Candeo Colors South St., OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!, and Catrice Have An Ice Day. I started with 3 coats of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!, then I applied 1 thin coat of Catrice Have An Ice Day, followed by 1 thin coat of Candeo Colors South St.. Finally I added 2 coats of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu! to sandwich the glitters from South St.
I added Have An Ice Day to create some tiny sparkles in the background of my nails but eventually they didn't show up in the final result. I should have used only 1 final coat of Don't Touch My Tutu! to see them but I prefered the look with 2 coats to tone down the glitters.

And here is a bottle close up shot of Candeo South St.!

Final verdict: I love this manicure! It looks really soft and it's an easy way to wear colorful glitters! Glitters in Candeo South St. are really bright, vibrant, and metallic but when you sandwich them between a white jelly they become pastel! It looks completely different! Here I used only 1 coat of glitters and I applied on purpose a very thin layer because I prefer the look with scarce glitters. I first applied a normal coat but I thought there were too many glitters so I redid it. I love the variety of glitters in South St: you have blue, green, yellow, white, and purple glitters in square, hex, and bar shapes! Most of them are of the same size, except some larger purple squares! I really love this polish! I think I will redo this manicure quite often!

Candeo Dolce

Hello!

I have another Candeo polishes to show. This is Dolce!

Candeo Dolce is described by Melinda, the creator of Candeo polishes as follows.

Dolce has a cotton candy pink base with dark pink shimmer and multiple sizes of white, holo purple & silver hex and bar glitter. Also, holo silver half moons are in the mix.

So let's go to the pictures!

1 coat of Candeo Dolce over 2 coats of Astor 133.

Candeo Dolce
Final verdict: This polish is so girly and pretty! I must admit I'm not used to wearing baby pink nails but I really enjoy this color and I want to wear pink more often now. The glitters are suspended in a candy pink base. Here I used one coat over a base pink polish (see below) because I have the mini bottle and wanted to save it. However, one of my friends used it by itself with three coats and it looked perfectly opaque and pretty. The glitters consist of pink, purple, lavender, and silver hexagons in different sizes. There are also silver bar glitters and holgraphic moons. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see any moons in my mini bottle but perhaps they hide in the bulk and as the base is not sheer you cannot see them at the surface of the bottle. However, my friend (still the same friend :p) who has the regular size bottle got a pretty moon on her index. So yeah, there are definitely some moons in there. But with or without moons, I love all the colors in this polish and the choice of the glitters. White and pink look awesome together! The formula was great, it was very easy to work with and to get a large amount of glitters on the brush. The glitters glide on the nails easily. So this is a winner!!

The base color: Astor 133
Here is the base color I used for this mani. It's a pastel pink creme from the brand Astor. The name of the polish is actually a number, it's 133. This polish is part of a spring limited edition (2012).

The color of this polish is not fully accurate on my pictures, sorry. In real life, it looks a little more pink and not that salmon. The formula of this polish was not great. I had some trouble applying it because it was a bit thick and it takes a long time to dry. So it's not the best pink creme you can find on the market...

I was the super luky winner of the secret giveaway that Alaina held on her blog, The Brrrds Nest. This giveaway was hidden in her post, just to see if you were  actually reading the post till the end. The prize was 4 colors from the China Glaze Electropop collection! But Alaina was the sweetest because she added a lot of other goodies, like China Glaze Electric Beat, 2 Sally Hansen from the Gem Crush collection, 08 Glitz Gal and 03 Big Money, 1 lip balm and a lot of samples. Everything was packed in a cute little box. Thank you so much, Alaina!!

l-r: China Glaze Gothic Lolita, Electric Beat, Aquadelic, Kinetic Candy, Fuchsia Fanatic.

Some many goodies~

And finally, I spotted the new OPI New York City Ballet collection at my local beauty supply called Douglas. So I had to grab this mini set because with all the glitters I got, I want to do some sandwich manicures! I took the mini set because here OPI is quite expensive but I'm pretty sure I'll end up with buying some of them in full size!lol

l-r: My Pointe Exactly, Don't Touch My Tutu!, Care to Danse?, Pirouette My Whistle.

Oh my! It was a huge post. I hope you enjoyed it and see you soon for more swatches!

Candeo Orchid

Hello!

I've got another Candeo polish to show you today. This is Orchid, a gorgeous fuchsia jelly packed with a multitude of glitters.

Orchid is described as
a shimmery fuchsia base, loaded with small copper, light purple, magenta, and large silver holographic hex glitters.
On the pictures below, I used 2 coats of Candeo - Orchid over bare nails (with base coat of course, and top coat).

Yummy jelly polish~

Final verdict: Oh.my.god! This is my 2nd Candeo polish and I love it as much as the 1st one I've tried, Sprouse (you can see my review of this polish here). I love them so much that I've already passed another order!! Can you belive that on the pictures I didn't wear any base color. So what you see is Orchid by itself! It's a fuchsia jelly that is opaque in 2 coats. In fact, it was nearly opaque in 1 coat. I was blown away when I applied it and realized that it's a jelly but with a good opacity!! That might seem contradictory but here it is really the case! And because it is a jelly, the glitters are not eaten by the base but you can still see them very well!! Application was really easy. You can get a good amount of glitters on the brush, no need to go fishing for them and they spead well on the nails! This polish is really a treasure. Dare I say I want to lick my nails all the time when I'm wearing it because it's so yummy? oh yes, I dare!!

Purchase info
Candeo polishes can be purchased from CandeoColors etsy store. The regular size bottles (15 mL) retail for $8. There are also mini bottles. Candeo polishes are 3 free. You can follow CandeoColors on Facebook.

Candeo Sprouse

Hello!

OMG, be ready to see a gorgeous polish! Do you know the brand Candeo? It's an indie brand led by the lovely Melinda who creates amazing polishes!
And today, I have "Sprouse" to show you!

Sprouse is described by Candeo in this way:
Graffiti for your nails! Sprouse is the Candeo take on the ever popular black and white glitter. In addition to black and white bar and hex glitter, Sprouse also has gunmetal and royal blue hex. The base has a nice holographic shimmer.

On the pictures below, I used one thin coat of Sprouse over 3 coats of Essence 04 Ice Eyes Baby from their limited edition "Crystalliced". It's a very light baby blue color. You can see my review for this polish here.
1 coat of Candeo - Sprouse over Essence Ice Eyes Baby.

Final verdict: wow wow wow! I am super excited about this polish! I first thought it would be too similar to Lynnderella - Connect The Dots but it's different by several aspects. First, it has royal blue hex glitters than can shift to teal when they reflect the light, and dark silver or gunmetal hex glitters. And secondly, what I find super pretty and what made me wowed when I first applied it on my nails is its very nice holographic shimmer! It gives so much dimension to the polish! And those blue glitters are just to die for!
Moreover, the application of Sprouse is super easy. I was really (!!) impressed by the quality of this polish. You absolutely don't have to fish for the glitters. You can actually easily get a large amount on the brush (cf the amount on the nail on my last picture). On other nails, I wipped the brush on the bottle neck to get less glitters (cf the last but one picture). I finally added one coat of top coat to get a smooth look. The glitters are not bumpy by the way. Melinda really knows what she is doing and does it in a very clever way, I think, because the formulation of this polish is such a dream!
I'm super happy with this polish and I might well need a back-up bottle because I think I will use it a lot!!
