SNB Graffiti Nails

Hello!

I did this manicure as part of the Sunday Nail Battle, which is organised by Odile from Odile Sacoche, and Andreia from 10tubes, with also the participation of Pshiiit, whose you must all know!

The theme of this week was Graffiti nails and we had to use neon polishes.
So here is what I came up with.

As we had to use neon polishes, I took out of my draw the mini set of neon polishes that OPI has recently launched. There are 4 colors in it: yellow (Ridiculously Yellow), orange (Formidably Orange), pink (Riotously Pink), and purple (Seriously Purple) plus a white base polish and a clear top coat.

For the first manicure I tried, I used the mani I showed you yesterday as a base. You can see it HERE. I wanted to recreate a sort of a wall...
Then I wanted to do a splatter mani with the neon polishes but I didn't have any straw at home. So I dediced to use a pen instead. I had seen someone using it to in nail art. Sorry I don't remember where I saw this so I cannot credit. If someone knows, tell me, please, and I'll add it here.

Here is  a small tutorial to show you how I did it.

The second manicure I tried. I first applied a base coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a white base and then I randomly applied some drops of neon on top to create a pattern. When it was dried, I stamped with Konad special polish in black and image plate m72.

Haha I would never wear such manicures to go out. It's too exuberant for me but it was fun to do as part of the Sunday Nail Battle! :D

You can see the participations of all the girls in the comment section of Odile, 10 tubes, and Pshiiit.

Abstract art with OPI and Konad

Hello!

I did an funny manicure using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (2 coats), which is my absolute favorite white polish. It's not 100% white, it has a light touch of grey in it. I sponged also some grey, Catrice ASHley, to have a grungy base pattern. And then I stamped with Konad image plate m72 with Konad special black polish.
Here is the result.

I don't why the picture looks a bit blurry. Click on it to view it correctly, please.

And here is how it looked without the stamp.

I had a lot of fun doing this manicure. It's quite easy to do and very original and eye-catchy! I love black and white manicures. It's classic yet creative :D

Black & White Butterflies

I was trying out several different designs to do for Berry Polished's Black and White Nail Art Competition. As the name suggests you can enter a design but only use black and white nail polish. One of the designs I decided to try was black and white butterflies.

I started off with a Ulta3 Base Coat. I then applied 2 coats of Ulta3 Lily White to all nails but my thumb and ring finger. For those I applied one coat of BYS Black Satin. Once dry I used Black Satin and a small nail art brush to drawn butterfly wings on my index, middle and pinkie fingers and then a small dotting tool and Lily White to draw dots. Then for my ring finger I used Lily White for the wings and Black Satin for the dots.

I wanted to do something different on my thumb so I stamped with the flower design from M26 and the butterfly design from M20 in Konad Special Polish White.

Finally I topped it all off with Ulta3 top coat. Ooh and then I smudged a nail which I tried to fix :'( Lol and I broke both sides off my thumbs!! :'''''''(

But here are the photos anyway :)

I don't like how this turned out. My white wasn't opaque enough against my black and I was too impatient to let everything dry completely between each step. I think these butterflies look better on longer nails where I can make the outline of wings thicker so the dots fit on better.

Lancôme contest

Hello!

I have a huge favour to ask you today!
I am participating in a Lancôme contest and I need your help to get more votes. Could you vote for me, please? Thank you so much!!

The picture I submitted is the following one. I decided to go for a rose pattern because, as you probably all know, this flower is the emblem of Lancôme!
For this manicure, I used 2 coats of KOH Hot Pink 159. And then I stamped with Zoya Sarah using Konad image plate m65. I got this KOH polish from the lovely Crystaliciousss. Thank you~
I'm holding in this picture a travel sized (7 mL) lip gloss from Lancôme Juicy Tubes line. Sorry I can't tell the name of it because it's not written on the tube but it's gorgeous. It leaves a red shimmer on your lips and it feels very moisturizing.
Next time you'll take the plane, take a look at the travel sized make up in duty free shops. There are a lot of great items!

For the Lancôme contest you have to send a picture showing your "Rouge in Love" style featuring either lipstick and/or nail polish. Of course, I've chosed to show my nails rather than my lips :D

This contest is hold by Lancôme Switzerland and only people living in Switzerland can submit an entry. Sorry...However people from all over the word can vote! The contest will be over at the end of May.

In order to vote you have to:

  • Like Lancôme Switzerland's FB page (click here to like it).
  • Follow this link (click here). You will be lead to the contest page.
  • Click on "Francais".
  • You will see my picture. Can you then click on the "heart" button, please? In this way, you'll give me 1 vote!

The person that get the most "likes" will win the entire Lancôme "Rouge in Love" lipstick and "Vernis in Love" polish collection! Isn't it amazing? I can't almost believe it!

Thanks a million if you could vote for me!! If you have a problem finding my picture, drop me a comment here, please. Thank you so much!!

Autumn Leaves

Since we are supposed to be in Autumn (anyone else still dealing with high temperatures? O_o) I got the idea in my head to do some Autumn leaves on my previous manicure. It was the picture below from Konad Stamping Nail Art that inspired my design, of course my nails are NOWHERE near THAT long!!

Konad Design from KONAD
So with that in mind I scoured through my Konad plates until I found the design I wanted to use. I used the leaf designs on Konad plate M20.

I only stamped half the design on each nail alternating either the big leaf or the small leaf. Then I moved onto the next colour and again alternated which leaf I used. I kept doing this with a new colour until there was no room left - so there are fewer colours on y pinkie compared to my thumb. All up I used Konad Special Polish Gold, Yellow, Blue, Light Grey, Dark Purple, Gold Brown and Green for each successive leaf. Lastly I used Konad Special Top Coat to seal my design.

So what did it end up looking like...

I'm happy with how this turned out :) I wanted it to have multicoloured leaves on the brown background and that's exactly how it looks. I also found it useful to see which colours turned up on the brown for when I want to stamp on similar dark colours. My pad of paper had a large amount of mess left over after stamping so many times!!

Konad Stamp Skittles

I hadn't stamped for awhile and decided to try a few different stamps out on my manicure. I wanted full, bold designs nothing will small delicate lines that might not transfer. So with that in mind I chose 5 designs from Konad plates M15, M24 and M54. I used Konad Special Polish Blue on my thumb and ring finger, then on  my other fingers I stamped using Konad Special Polish Green.

The plates I used:
M15 Images I used on my index and middle fingers (ICNA)

M24 Images I used on my thumb and ring fingers (ICNA)
M54 Image I used on my pinky finger (ICNA)

These photos were taken in artificial light.

Then the following afternoon in the dwindling light I took these photos. Oops I forgot to include my thumb!

For me this was a good opportunity to try out different stamps. I actually really like the blue stamped on this colour even though the green stood out more. I can't wait to use the design on my thumb in white on black nails!
