Ozotic comparison: 502 vs 520

Hello!

I've an Ozotic comparison to show you today: 502 vs 520.

I wanted to do this comparison because when I wanted to buy some Ozotic, I couldn't really tell the difference between those 2 according to the pictures I saw on the internet. So I hope this post will be useful for some of you :D

Final verdict: When they are side by side, they look completely different! 520 is warmer than 502. 

520 shifts from rusty burgundy to red, to amber, to gold, and to orange while 502 shifts from  gold to orange, to a light red with a touch of pink in it. On these pictures, I used 2 coats of 520 and 3 coats of 502 to reach full opacity. I didn't use a black or dark base coat. Of course, you can do it to save polish and to get a slightly different effect.

The ultimate comparison: Ludurana vs. Ozotic!

Today it's the ultimate comparison between Ozotic 504, 505, 506 and Ludurana Emocionante, Show, and Reluz.

Concerning the different colors of the polishes:

• Ozotic 504: main colors are royal blue-deep purple, you can also see some copper, red, burgundy, and orange.
• Ozotic 505: main colors are green and purple , you can see some copper at certain angles.
• Ozotic 506: mains colors are cyan and purple.

and

• Emocionante: main colors are royal blue-deep purple, you can also see some copper, red, burgundy, and orange.
• Show: main colors are green/teal and purple, you can see some copper at certain angles.
• Reluz: mains colors are cyan and purple.

=> Do we have some dupes then?

First, let's compare Ludurana Emocionante with Ozotic 504. On the index, it's 2 coats of Ozotic 504, 2 coats of Emocionante on the middle finger, 2 coats of Emocionante over A-England Lancelot (very dark red almost black) on the ring finger, and 2 coats of Ozotic 504 over black on the pinkie.

Ozotic is quite sheer. Even with 3 or more coats, you cannot reach full opacity, it gives a jelly look. On the contrary, Emocionante is fully opaque with 2 coats. However the colors in both polishes are the same: deep blue and purple with copper and burgundy.

Then let's compare Ludurana Reluz with Ozotic 506.

Here again, the Ozotic (506) is sheerer with a jelly look. When they are layered over black, the have exactly the same shif in colors. 

Finally let's consider Ludurana Show and Ozotic 505.

It's the same again. Ozotic is sheer while Ludurana is opaque with 2 coats. Both polishes display the same range of colors.

On the above picture you can see the difference in terms of opacity between Ozotic (504 here) and Ludurana (Emocionante here). Both are 1 coat over bare nails.

Final verdict: The different Ludurana-Ozotic couples (Emocionante-504, Show-505, and Reluz-506) possess the same range of colors and are thus very close. Emocionante and 504 show both royal blue-purple-red-copper, Show-505 green/teal-purple, and Reluz-506 cyan-purple. The only difference between them are the opacity. Ludurana polishes are lot more opaque than Ozotic. That's why you can use Ludurana by themselves while it's better to layer Ozotic over a dark base. What is also super fun is that you can stamp with these Ludurana multichromes (cf my post about it). 

So if you prefer opaque polishes and love stamping, I suggest getting the Ludurana while if you like trying different layering combinations, Ozotic polishes should be your choice!

Their price is also a little different. Ludurana multichromes cost $14.0 for 8mL (1.75/mL) and Ozotic are $17.5 for 15 mL (1.17/mL).

PS Not all Ooztic polishes are sheer. Here I'm only talking about 504, 505, and 506! Ozotic 520 and 507, for example, don't need to be layered over a base color.

Comparison: Color Club Revvvolution

I decided to do some comparison swatches of Color Club Revvvolution. I chose to compare Color Club Revvvolution, OPI My Private Jet and Modelista On Location- Berlin.

Left         -     Modelista On Location - Berlin
Middle    -     OPI My Private Jet
Right       -     Color Club Revvvolution

I took this comparison photo was in artificial light.

 

Then I took this one in natural light but unfortunately the sun was beginning to go down.

 

I intentionally added this blurry photo so you could compare the holographic effect of each nail polish

As you can see On Location- Berlin is very black with no holographic effect although it does have a small amount of red, silver and green microglitter.

OPI My Private Jet has a dark brown base colour and a medium holographic effect. My Private Jet has silver, brown, red, orange and some green holographic glitter.

Revvvolution is a charcoal black base and also has medium holographic effect. It predominantly contains orange, green and brown holographic glitter.

The holographic effect of My Private Jet and Revvvolution is some what similar but Revvvolution contains large amounts of green and orange whereas My Private Jet seems to have equal amounts of the different holographic glitters. None of these are even close to Color Club Revvvolution and of the three it is my favourite - I'm a sucker for holographic nail polishes.

Comparison Ozotic 504-505-506

Hello~

Here is the 1st post of my "comparison series". You may have noticed Ozotic 504, 505, 506, and Ludurana Emocionante, Show, and Reluz share some similarities. So I'll compare all of them. I'll start with a pure Ozotic comparison (504 vs 505 vs 506), in the following post a pure Ludurana comparison (Emocionante vs Show vs Reluz) and finally I'll show you the ultimate Ozotic vs Ludurana comparison!lol

So let's start with the Ozotic comparison!

On the index is Ozotic 504, middle finger and pinkie 505, and ring finger 506. 2 coats of the different Ozotic are layered over A-England Lancelot (you can see my post about Lancelot here). On each picture, the bottle I'm holding is Ozotic 505.

As you can see on this 1st picture, they are all multichrome. For exampe, 504 displays royal blue, pink, purple and copper, while 505 teal/green, purple, and copper and finally 506 cyan and purple. On the above picture 505 and 506 seem close but this is due to a trick of my camera that tends to turn the green of 505 into blue. IRL they are both very distinct (green for 505 and cyan for 506). I insist on the distinct difference between them. It's not a slight difference! You can really see that they are different!

Here again, my camera turns 505 blue but it's green in real life and thus very different from 506, which is blue/cyan. 506 and 504 are color-accurate.

The above picture is an outdoor picture. You see the green of 505 better! Yay~ Here all the colors are accurate!

The above picture was taken with flash. It shows you the main base color of the different polishes.

And finally you can see the purple you've got in each polish. The purple in 505 and 506 is mostly identical, in 504 it's more red-toned.

To summarize:

• Ozotic 504: main colors are royal blue-deep purple, you can also see some coppery red and orange.
• Ozotic 505: main colors are green and purple , you can see some copper at certain angles.
• Ozotic 506: mains colors are cyan and purple.

Final verdict: All of them are rather sheer (I'll show you in my Ozotic vs Ludurana comparison post), so you need to layer them over a base color. A dark color will show the multichrome effect better. They are all very multichromatic! You move your nails from 1mm and you can see a different colors! There is no trick in my pictures! You can really see that in real life! 504 and 506 shift from blue to purple while 505 from green to purple. 504 is a warmer polish than 506. 504 has a warm-royal blue as a base color and it shifts toward copper-purple. 506 shifts from cyan to a lighter purple. So they are all different and beautiful! Don't forget most cameras tend to turn green into blue so that may be confusing and make you think 505 and 506 are similar but I think I've demonstrated here (esp with the outdoor picture and the picture taken with flash) that they are both different! :D

Zoya Mimi vs Catrice Forget Me Not - Dupe?

Hi there~

Today I have a comparison post between 2 lovely purple polishes: Mimi (Zoya) and Forget Me Not (Catrice). In the following text, I'll use the abbreviation FMN for Forget Me Not.
I previously swatched Mimi here and did a Zoya purple comparison there.

Both of them are royal purple with microglitters.

Forget Me Not is on my index and middle finger and Mimi on my ring finger (3rd nail from the left).

Honestly it's very very hard to see any difference between FMN and Mimi. However, when you apply the first layer of polish, you can spot some pink microglitters in Mimi that you don't have in FMN. In FMN you rather have some silver microglitters which are slightly smaller than Mimi's. Nevertheless the overwhole effect (color) is nearly the same in both polishes. Even in sunlight, you can't really tell the difference between them. This tiny difference in glitters (pink vs silver) is no more visible when you apply a 2nd coat of polish.

The main difference between them is the opacity. FMN is more opaque. On this picture I used 2 coats for both polishes. You can clearly see that you have some visible nail line with Mimi (2 coats) while FMN is totally opaque.

However, if you apply 3 coats of Mimi, look at what you get.

Can you see any differences here? Forget Me Not (Catrice) is on my index and middle finger and Mimi (Zoya) on my ring finger and pinkie.

So finally I would say that FMN and Mimi are really close. From a color and texture point of view, I would say they are identical. In my opinion, the only difference lay in their opacity. FMN is more opaque. Application was easy with both polishes.

Purple glitter comparison

This is a reader request.

So here I will prensent 3 purple giltters from Essence cosmetics.

• The first one is called "Louise" and is part of the previous Essence Twins Collection. This is a now retired shade. Her twin is Thelma, a very dark plum purple.
• The second one is "It's purplicious" from the Essence Nail Art Special Effect! Topper.
• And finally the third one is "Troy" also from the Essence Twins Collection but is still available.

So let's take a look at the picture to see how different they are.

One coat of the mentioned glitter polishes over Lucky in Lilac (Catrice).

I can't tell the difference between Louise and It's purplicious. They look exactly identical on the nails. What a good news if you missed Louise (retired now). You can grab It's purplicious instead.
They are both constituated of very fine purple glitters in a clear base with some larger light reflecting purple squares.

Troy is quite different. It has very fine purple and blue glitters and it's much more densly packed. 

I added a second layer of glitters to see if you could start seeing a difference between Louise and It's purplicious.

Two coats of the mentioned glitter polishes over Lucky in Lilac (Catrice).

So definitively Louise and It's purplicious are dupe. You can also see how dense Troy is. I haven't tried but with 3 coats, you may reach full opacitiy for Troy.

And I couldn't resist mattifying the glitters with Icing Matte About You.

And here is Lucky in Lilac (Catrice) alone.

Zoya - Purple comparison

Hi there~

Some people sharing their love on Zoya Facebook Page wanted to see a comparison picture of Dannii and Zara. They seem indeed quite close in the bottle but are really different on the nails!

Here are some pictures to show you the differences between these 2 gorgeous nail polishes! I've also added 2 other Zoya purple polishes I have, i.e. Yasmeen and Mimi. This is 3 coats for all nail polishes, without any top coat so that you can see the different finishes better.
Application was perfect for all. Nevertheless Dannii was slightly more difficult to work with but application was still flawless.

Index: Zara

Middle finger: Dannii

Ring finger: Yasmeen

Pinkie: Mimi

You can see the difference in color and in finish! Zara on the left, Dannii on the right.

As you can see on the pictures, Zara is lighter and softer than Dannii. 

Compared to Dannii, Zara tends to lean towards pink. 

The finish is also different, Zara has a softer, smoother finish while Danni is more foil-like with a metallic finish.

Zara is also a bit sheer with a kind of jelly texture, but with 3 coats you can easily achieve full opacity. Dannii is more opaque, you only need 2 coats.

Zara is an incredible duochrome nail polish that flashes gold very strongly. It's very soft, sophisticated and work appropriate, I believe.

Dannii with its kind of metallic finish and its beautiful purple color with red and gold shimmer is really a stunning polish as well!

Yaseem leans towards burgundy and has a very smooth glass-like finish.

Mimi leans towards blue but is still more purple than blue, I think. It's a very glittery and shimmery nail polish.

Comparison Wednesday

Hi all!

I've had a couple of requests for comparisons and I found some polishes in my stash that were a lot alike, so Comparison Wednesday it is! I apologize for the variety in backgrounds, but some colors wouldn't be accurate on a white background and some didn't like the black background. I did the best I could with it since lighting wasn't really coorperating either..

Anyway, I have no less than four comparisons for you today! Here's a little overview.

Some colors are way darker irl, but again, that's due to the background..

Left Misa Dirty Sexy Money, right Catrice I Sea You! The colors are a little too dark, but you can see that they're pretty much identical. Dirty Sexy Money is a tad bit more blue, but I don't think you could tell these apart when I wore them together as a mani.

Left Color Club Electronica, right Nfu Oh 117. Both are deep purples with red and blue shimmer particles, but Electronica is a bit darker so I'd say these are no dupes of eachother. They are siblings though, so if you own one of these two, you probably won't need the other.

Left OPI Dating A Royal and Essie Mesmerize on the right. I would call both of them medium blues, but they are no dupes. I've read somewhere that these are deadon dupes, but they're obviously not. Dating A Royal is more intense, colorwise, than Mesmerize. The latter is a bit brighter. No, these are not dupes. If you're not really into blues, you probably won't need both though.

This one is not as faded and light as my picture let's it appear, but I couldn't get a proper shot. I will try again later this week and add a better picture when I managed to take a more accurate picture.. Anyway, left is Orly Prince Charming and right is Essie Mink Muffs. Both are taup-ey cremes, but Mink Muffs is more pigmented and is warmer than Prince Charming. Mink Muffs and Prince Charming are not dupes of eachother.

Left RBL No More War, right Pieces It's a Camouflage. They are both in the army green category, but that's all they have alike. No More War is way darker and greener than It's a Camouflage so no dupes here either.
