China Glaze Sea Spray

I was in the mood for some more demure shades so I searched through my stash and came up with China Glaze Sea Spray! Sea Spray is from the China Glaze Anchor's Away collection and is a gorgeous blue grey polish.

One coat of Sally Hansen Triple Strength base coat and two coats of Sea Spray. Application was flawless and very smooth. I finished with one coat of Revlon Colorstay top coat.

Some pictures!

Love, love, love this! Oh so much! I actually didn't want to take this off! I've shortened my nails a bit more and I think it looks gorgeous on this shorter length. My only complaint is that when the polish is wet there is this gorgeous blue silver shimmer all throughout it but once dried it almost completely disappears :( Definitely can't wait to try this one again!

Candeo South St. sandwiched

Hello!!
How do you like sandwich manicures? I personnally like them a lot because they allow you to wear crazy glitters in a softer way!

For this manicure I used Candeo Colors South St., OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!, and Catrice Have An Ice Day. I started with 3 coats of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!, then I applied 1 thin coat of Catrice Have An Ice Day, followed by 1 thin coat of Candeo Colors South St.. Finally I added 2 coats of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu! to sandwich the glitters from South St.
I added Have An Ice Day to create some tiny sparkles in the background of my nails but eventually they didn't show up in the final result. I should have used only 1 final coat of Don't Touch My Tutu! to see them but I prefered the look with 2 coats to tone down the glitters.

And here is a bottle close up shot of Candeo South St.!

Final verdict: I love this manicure! It looks really soft and it's an easy way to wear colorful glitters! Glitters in Candeo South St. are really bright, vibrant, and metallic but when you sandwich them between a white jelly they become pastel! It looks completely different! Here I used only 1 coat of glitters and I applied on purpose a very thin layer because I prefer the look with scarce glitters. I first applied a normal coat but I thought there were too many glitters so I redid it. I love the variety of glitters in South St: you have blue, green, yellow, white, and purple glitters in square, hex, and bar shapes! Most of them are of the same size, except some larger purple squares! I really love this polish! I think I will redo this manicure quite often!

•  sans parfum;
hypoallergénique;
testé dermatologiquement;
sans parabènes, sulfates, phtalates ou substances pétrochimiques;
composé à 99% d’ingrédients naturels;
développé sans tests sur les animaux;

WIN SHELLAC FOR LIFE

Hello!
I received a pretty funny email about a great contest so today will be a quick post to share some information that can interest you! I won't enter the contest myself, not because it doesn't interest me, but because it's for Canadian and United States residents only. So go, go, go Canadian and US ladies! and good luck!

WIN SHELLAC FOR LIFE ($1266 value) - NAILPOLISHCANADA.COM TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
pictures from nailpolishcanada.com and cnd.com, edited by me

“To be fair, it’s actually only a 25 year supply, so we can only hope the winner dies early to keep me an honest woman” - Nikki Smith, VP of Glitter, Nail Polish Canada.
CND Shellac is a cross between nail polish and gel which is cured under a UV lamp and lasts up to 14 days without chipping.
Chipped nails are an important issue that affect lives in many ways. “We’ve invented substantial research and the reason women slap or bite in a catfight is fear of chipping their nails. Hopefully, together, we can build a world where a woman can throw a punch at the bitch who kissed her boyfriend without worrying about chips” said Ms. Smith.

picture from cnd.com.
The prize will go to whomever can show that their life will be most impacted by winning Shellac for life.
Be it better, or worse.

Maybe it stops your polish addiction long enough that you can save money, go to school, become a doctor, go to Africa and start saving lives. Did we say that this contest saves lives? Now we did.

Or maybe you’re just looking for a little understanding, “My husband will finally understand that other people take polish as seriously as me...” - Sarah P.”

Or perhaps the result won’t be as positive, “I’ll probably spend all my time painting my nails, not go to work, get fired, now I’m homeless, damn you NPC.” - Beth C”

If you or a loved one is still stuck in a world of chips, smudges and wasting countless hours re-doing nails we urge you to take a stand.
Grand prize will go to the best description of how winning a lifetime supply of Shellac will change their life. Winner selected August 7, 2012.

OPI Silver Shatter over Revlon Radiant

 Still showing my crackles some love :)

Today I have for you OPi Silver Shatter over Revlon Radiant.I applied one layer of Silver Shatter and then a layer of Revlon Colorstay top coat.

Again terrible weather still >.<

OPI Silver Shatter over Revlon Radiant in Natural Light
 LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!! I'm so glad I tried a shatter over a glitter like this again because this combo is amazing! My pictures really don't do this justice because the glittery bits peaking through against the silver shatter are simply stunning!

Revlon Radiant

I'm still going through the polishes I have won from giveaways and today I have for you Revlon Radiant which I also won from Bethany at A Plethora of Nails.

Radiant had also been released by Revlon but called Mosaic. Revlon Radiant is also from the Revlon Expressionist collection.

One coat of Sally Hansen Triple Strong base coat and three coats of Radiant. I found this one to be a bit thick when applying it. It was difficult to get full coverage, especially at my tips :( Finally I finished it off with a coat of Revlon Colorstay top coat.

Still no sunlight but several natural light photos:)

 This is a beautiful polishes! It has large blue, silver and green hexes and is packed with smaller blue hexes in a clear base. I think next time I should layer this over a base colour to help make this beauty pop :)

China Glaze Haute Metal over Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

I decided to pull out my crackles and give them a go since I haven't tried them in ages. I decided to use China Glaze Haute Metal over my previous Facets of Fuchsia mani! I applied one layer of Haute Metal and then a layer of Revlon Colorstay top coat.

Some pictures!! Only a few and no daylight pics unfortunately :(

China Glaze Haute Metal over Revlon Facets of Fuchsia in Artificial Light
China Glaze Haute Metal over Revlon Facets of Fuchsia in Artificial Light
I don't know about everyone else but I love me some crackle!! My only problem with this is that Facets of Fuchsia is a bit of a top coat eater so the 'base' that I applied Haute Metal over wasn't completely smooth. I think that's why the crackles didn't appear as large. I like the unusual effect the crackle produces over a glitter polish :)

Gitly Bits - Arctic Sunrise

Hello!!

I didn't post much last week because I am trying to find a better light bulb to take more color accurate pictures. I still have to try a few settings and perhaps buy a second bulb so during that time, bear it with me, please. Thank you.

Today I'll show a gorgeous polish form the awesome brand Girly Bits. It's Arctic Sunrise from the recent Slapdash Collection for Summer 2012.

Final verdict: When I opened my package and saw this baby, I wowed because the shimmer in it was so strong! I couldn't belive my eyes and kept playing with the bottle. Belive me, the pink-purple shimmer is stronger than what you can see on my pictures. It's really lovely. Moreover, it's packed with gorgeous littles flecks and the base is a soft yet vibrant (I know that sounds impossible but it is how this polish looks like!) baby blue. The shimmer and flecks give a great 3D effect and make this polish a total winner! Seriously, I love it and I'm really impressed by Pam's talent! *taking off my hat to her*. The first coat was quite sheer but eventually it got opaque with only 2 coats. Formula was really nice and easy to work with!
